HMC Upgrades?

Anyone here attempt to upgrade HMCs in a production env? Any tips and pointers?

Got 9 or so (ranging from v3 to v4) and target is v5.x


Managed to get a loner from IBM, but not sure if I am missing anything else before I pull the trigger...

We are currently running version 5 that we upgraded in a production environment.  I would definitely make sure you backup your HMC prior to doing the upgrades, just to be safe.

Have you done a prior upgrade?  I could include the steps that we have documented for upgrading if you are interested.

We are currently running HMC version 5, HMC release 1.2
